Helico® Pulper for High Consistency Pulping

The Helico pulper is a leading design in the field of high consistency pulping with several hundred references for many different applications. The rotor is a one-piece solid stainless steel casting that ensures circulation of the stock at the highest possible consistency.
Working Principle
The high consistency pulper is always batch operated. Raw material (virgin pulp or waste paper) and water are introduced together. The high consistency of the pulp allows a strong inter-fiber friction effect resulting in a high defibering rate. For deinking applications, the strong friction effect enables very good ink detachment while the low speed of the turbine minimizes contaminant fractionation and facilitates the removal of fragile contaminants.
Applications
- Wet strength treatment
- Virgin pulp reslushing
- Deinking lines
- Brown grade applications requiring demanding superior physical characteristics
Features and Benefits
- Defibering at consistency up to 18%
- Highest achievable ink detachment for deinking lines
- Highly efficient separation of fibrous and non-fibrous materials such as plastics, films, adhesives, latex book binding without breaking them, making their subsequent removal easier
- Savings in chemicals, steam, and energy in deinking or in disintegrating wet strength grades and other impregnated papers
- Reduced contaminant fractionation
- Virtually flake-free accepts for non wet strength applications
- No need for a deflaker
- Automatic and integrated detrashing options
