Virgin fiber and recycled fiber processing systems must often compensate for wide variations of furnish qualities. When using waste paper, the fiber mix, fillers, and additives must all be considered to ensure the combination fits the paper machine characteristics and product requirements. Kadant is a leading supplier of stock preparation and approach flow systems that effectively process fibers to produce high-quality white and brown grades of paper. Our systems are tailored to meet specific requirements pertaining to raw materials, water management, reject handling, and product quality.
De-inking Systems
The key component to these systems is the patented technology used in the de-ink cell. These cells optimize the injection of small air bubbles into the stock, which collect the ink particles and float them to the surface for removal.
Pulpers
High- and low-consistency pulpers provide high-efficiency defibering and removal of contaminants without breaking up the non-fibrous material.
Gyroclean Lightweight Contaminant Removal
Centrifugal force is used to separate acceptable fibers from lighter contaminants in virgin or recycled fiber.
Screens
Both coarse and fine screens, the latter with very narrow slots, are used to remove smaller contaminants from the process flow. Fine screens, specially designed to reduce pulsations, are used in the approach flow to the headbox.
